Welcome

Welcome to my little world! My name is Donna and I'm the mother of one very spoiled kitty named Clarice. I was a banker for over 20 years but now I'm a SAHM and loving every minute of it. I'm a super, huge Bon Jovi fan and an avid cross stitcher. I love decorating my home with flea market finds, primitive style items and vintage items. My hubby says if the last three generations threw it out as trash it'll end up in our house as a decoration.

Man, It's hot in Germany

I arrived here on Monday just exhausted, hungry, grimy and HOT!  I forgot the lack of air conditioning is a huge negative of living here in the summer.  The stores, train, airport, ect....are all
hot, hot, HOT!!!!  I was a sweaty mess and I walked into an apartment that had been closed up for a month so not much better.  I basically grabbed a quick shower, ate some pretzels and collapsed on the couch for a nap.  I can't  ever sleep on the plane so I'm always worn out after a trip and this time I was really worn out.  I just didn't do a whole lot on Tuesday until after 7:00 last night but I got everything gathered up and into the office so I can start packing.

I want to go back and visit a couple of places before I leave so I think I'll start my trips tomorrow.  I really want to hit a couple of antique stores before we move because there are still treasures I haven't discovered yet.  I don't have anything in particular that I'm looking for just want to look around.

We listed the house Saturday afternoon and had our first showing on Sunday.  The house wasn't even on the MLS yet but a realtor looking for herself was told about it from one of our neighbors.  She said they liked the house a lot but they want a larger yard and the secondary bedrooms are smaller.  WTH, I agree the yard is on the smaller side because most of it is wooded but I don't think the extra bedrooms are small.  Whatever!  I know the right family will come a long soon.....I hope.

I'm looking on line for homes in Tennessee and I think I've found some really great options for us.
This one has a 6 car garage which would thrill Mark

Sweet Farmhouse which is completely remodeled!

Just so many options and I'm starting to get a little  more excited about our new chapter and adventure.

  1. I vote for the farmhouse! The first one looks like too much of a house for me and the log cabin is nice but a little too rustic at my age.
I can't believe you are moving to my neighbor state! I hope we can get together sometime after you get settled. That would be awesome!!!

  2. Ha! That is funny. I like the exact same house as Peg, basically same reasons too.
Hope things finish up smoothly for you there Donna. And I hope you find fun treasures. Where is Clarice at?

    1. My sweet baby is still in Atlanta with her Auntie Donna checking on her every day. I miss her so much but knew that packing up over here would stress her out too much so I left her at home. I've never been away from her for this long and it's killing me.

  3. They are each lovely in their own way, but I really love that farmhouse and the property! You'll find the perfect one for your family though...beast of luck.
